Last week, our junior school students enjoyed a fantastic day at the local park, immersing themselves in nature and learning about the environment. Armed with magnifying glasses and notebooks, the children observed various plants, insects, and animals. The adventure started with a nature walk led by our science teacher, Mrs. Green, who pointed out different species of trees and birds along the way.
One of the highlights was spotting a family of ducks by the pond. The students learned about the ducks’ habitat and behavior, and some even got to feed them. Mrs. Green explained how the ducks care for their ducklings, which fascinated the children.
After the walk, students gathered in small groups for a fun scavenger hunt. They collected leaves, twigs, and flowers to create their nature collages. Each group worked together, sharing discoveries and helping each other identify different items. The excitement and teamwork were wonderful to see.
The day concluded with a picnic lunch under the shade of the big oak trees. As the students enjoyed their sandwiches and fruit, they discussed their findings and shared their favorite parts of the day. Back in the classroom, the students proudly displayed their nature collages and wrote about their experiences in their journals.
It was a day filled with discovery, learning, and a lot of fun. We look forward to more outdoor adventures in the future!
